Zoom and Focus
At the start of a film you start with a wide shot showing you the location and the basic surroundings around the character. Then close in on one object and get more and more detailed on certain parts. Then move over onto the next object and around the environment. Also add in the senses what can you smell, what can you feel, what can you hear? If this is happening as part of a story don't waffle on about the certain colour of blue used on the window sill add a little bit more scope to it.
